Nick Gristina is a Partner with Porteous, Hainkel & Johnson, a law firm founded in 1928 that has served clients with integrity, creativity, efficiency and professionalism for over 88 years. He joined the firm after clerking with the Honorable Guy Holdridge in the 23rd JDC. Nick has represented insurance companies and their insureds as lead counsel in numerous trucking, transportation and automobile liability, coverage, and bad faith cases. He has also represented corporate retailers throughout Louisiana Nick was appointed by the Louisiana Law Institute to the expedited jury trial exploratory committee to study fast-track jury trial access, and he crafted proposed Code of Civil Procedure articles to implement that process. He frequently presents on topics including pre-suit claims handling, social media discovery, insurance bad faith and effective negotiations. Nick has been recognized by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star every year since 2012, a distinction reserved for less than 2.5% of lawyers. He received his B.A. with Honors from Millsaps College and his Bachelor of Civil Law and Juris Doctor from LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center where he was a Flory Trial finalist. He now practices in his firm’s home New Orleans office.
