Philip W. Savrin is a partner in the Atlanta office of Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP where he chairs the firm’s Insurance Coverage National Practice Group. After graduating with honors from Boston University School of Law, he served as a Staff Attorney for the Eleventh Circuit and then as a law clerk for the Honorable Harold L. Murphy of the Northern District of Georgia. Since entering private practice, he has specialized in the areas of professional liability and insurance coverage. He has been cited as an legal authority on coverage by the Supreme Court of Georgia in World Harvest Church, Inc. v. GuideOne Mutual Insurance Company, 287 Ga. 149, 695 S.E.2d 6 (2010) and has argued two cases Supreme Court of the United States, Scott v. Harris, 550 U.S. 372 (2007) and Reed v. Gilbert, 135 S.Ct. 228 (2015). He is a frequent presenter on topics of interest to his clients, is listed in Best Lawyers in America for both insurance law and municipal liability, and has been designated a Super Lawyer by the magazine Georgia Trend.
